Have look at "Likewise Open" AD integration software. It is Free software (GPL
or LGPL, can't remember), works like a charm. Works on most linux distros. I
have used it on (K)Ubuntu and CentOS5. No need to mess with KRB, SMB etc.
You can also buy support from the company, if required.
I think what you need is to just "join" the Linux machine to the AD domain.
