I'm a full time release engineer for Red Hat, and I haven't found any
good books on it (not that I've looked very hard). When I took the job,
I looked at what other projects did, particularly FreeBSD. They had a
great set of documents I read. I used them to create
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ReleaseEngineering/Overview which is now a
bit dated. At the bottom of that document you'll find a link to the
FreeBSD documents.
