There are some odd white space issues in BASH too.
Would you elaborate on why you find enforced white space objectionable? Isn't this a
sort of syntax only issue?
I personally am most excited about PHP and the ease of use of OO concepts. For my
purposes it seems to be pretty good because you're really only depending on the user
having a basic working web browser. I guess it depends on where you want the actual
application to run and the capabilities of the language. Probably the scope of what
JAVA can do is a lot larger but Java apps seem slow to me.
