I think most people on this list either are capable of building
their own or know someone who is. It takes a geek to understand
why Linux is a better choice than Windows, so we select ourselves.
That's one thing holding us back from world domination, and another
thread. :-)
I have purchased assembled machines from local companies, but none
are in business today. Anyone remember Bear Computer, or Cutting
Edge Computer, both in Bellevue? I've used Computer Stop (just
across Northup from where Cutting Edge used to be) for parts, but
not for systems. I suppose there's Fry's these days, but not being
able to buy something as simple as a motherboard or a disk drive
without the help of a "sales associate" puts me right off.
