[SLL] Curses display issues?

First, looking through my logs I see that I updated ncurses recently. 
Could that have something to do with it?

What's interesting is that this problem manifests itself no matter what 
type of terminal I'm using--xterm, other X terminal, screen, virtual 
console, ssh...
