Funny you should ask this.  Red Hat (who does all the development work
that CentOS builds from) didn't do the stupid ass change to openssl that
Debian did which caused this whole mess.

So you're right.  The "enterprise" quality system put enterprise quality
maintainers behind the software to make sure that mistakes like this are
hard to accomplish.
