[SLL] Hardy Heron - apparent legacy video fix

Last week, I issued a request for help resolving a Hardy Heron video
resolution problem.  The problem seemed to be self correcting.  Video
issues stabilized after applying the first few days of Ubuntu updates.
 I'm planning to research the nature of these updates.

Many kudos, compliments, and praises to the Ubuntu "volunteer" team.
This is much in contrast to the updates provided by some proprietary
software company.  I vaguely recall the CEO of this company deriding
the excellent work of Linux "volunteers."  This CEO can blither all he
wants.  The proof is in the quality of the product delivery.
