[SLL] Random Ubuntu Video Resolution Reset

As everyone knows, Hefty Heron was released six days ago. I am
currently encountering a random Ubuntu Hefty Heron frustration. The
frustration is a random video resolution reset. The video resets to
the desired resolution after a nonspecific number of cold or warm
boots. This is an aggravation for which I want to identify the cause.
Any suggestions that would give me some direction would be
appreciated.

The hardware is an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with 750 Mb memory. The video
is nVidia Corporation NV15 [GeForce2 GTS/Pro] (rev a4) . The
installed driver is nVidia accelerated graphics driver (Legacy cards).

Of course, the easiest solution would be the M$ solution. That is,
purchase new hardware. This is the "no guts, no gain" solution. Are
there any suggesting regarding the tracing of this problem? Where
should I look for the resets? It almost seems that the solution may
entail waiting for, or writing my own legacy driver.

Regards,

Jerry Horvath
