The Seattle Mac User group, dbug.org, will be hosting a new Linux/Unix
Special Interest Group (SIG).

All Linux and Unix users are welcome, not just Mac users. We will be
looking at Linux on the Mac, of course, and also at general Linux, Unix,
and open source topics.

I am more than a bit behind this month, largely the result of having all
the carpet and flooring replaced in my shop and office areas.

There will be a Linux/Unix SIG meeting, Tuesday 11 March 2008

I will be covering some basics for the Mac OS X users including how to
create simple scripts and make them executable.

The main subject will be open source software available for Linux, Unix,
and OS X, how to get it and install it on OS X using fink or macports with
emphasis on image processing software, the gimp and imagemagick.
The meeting is at 7pm at the dBug resource center

dBug Resource Center Address:
9620 Stone Avenue North, Suite 202
Seattle, WA 98103-3378

Wireless access, and an overhead projector is available for people who want
to do show-and-tell.

More information and directions are on the web site:

Bagdikian's Observation:
Trying to be a first-rate reporter on the average American
newspaper is like trying to play Bach's "St. Matthew Passion"
	on a ukelele.
