[SLL] Problem following "Best of Both Worlds" qemu setup

Hello,

The steps outlined in the "Best of Both Worlds" article by Dashamir
Hoxha in the February 2008 issue of the Linux Journal on page 84 is
almost exactly what I want to do. I have a new MSI laptop with a
2.4gHZ P4 core duo, 2GB RAM, 200GB HD with a WinXP/Slack12.0 dual
boot. I'd really like to be able to run the Slack12 install from
within windows but when I try to run the qemu command:
qemu.exe -L . -hda \\.\PhysicalDrive0 -soundhw all -localtime

I get a grub "Error 17" which google research revealed means "Grub
error 17 : Cannot mount selected partition This error is returned if
the partition requested exists, but the filesystem type cannot be
recognized by GRUB."

So I actually reinstalled Slack12 on ext3 (it was ReiserFS) and I
still get the same error. From the article it seems like this first
step should be fairly easy. I even tried using LILO as my boot loader
but I just get the old "L 99 99 .." error. I did install both GRUB and
LILO to the MBR. Is there any special setup in FC6 that I need to copy
to get this to work in Slack12? Thanks!

Ben
