Innnnnteresting. I would've thought the Eee would've been bigger, without
looking myself...
And my houseguest from last week has the ultimate solution to the OLPC's
kid-sized keys.... Lenovo now sells a ThinkPad keyboard as a separate piece,
USB. The cord folds neatly into the bottom of the device, which will slide
right in behind your OLPC (or other laptop with a crappy keyboard) without
getting snarled... yes, it's another device and another pound or so, but it
means you can have the PC up on a table staying cool while the keyboard is
several feet away, like, in your lap with your feet up... and if you drop it
you're not risking the delicate LCD.
And with appropriate apps discussed in a previous thread, you can even make
it work right on certain fruity proprietary hardware. :)
The Zonbu, though, has a 15.4" widescreen display, and weighs in at
5lbs... still no optical drive, though. Gripping hand, as ubiquitous (and
large) as thumb drives get these days? *shrug* Particularly when modern
hardware will boot from them.... it's not such a loss.
