[SLL] I'm having trouble changing my home filesystem...

My new laptop was installed by the vendor with too little root filespace, so
I used fdisk to change my 105GB /home filesystem to three new filesystems,
one for /usr, one for /home, and an extra, but I forgot how I make the new
kind of fstab mount with the funny number on the left hand column. My old
column is:
UUID=0e8d09c39-1de4-4120-8d69-45979343fd09<tab>/home<tab>ext3<tab>defaults<tab>0<tab>2<tab>#
/dev/sda3
I tried inserting just:
/dev/sda3<tab>/home<tab>etc, for the new filesystem home, but it won't allow
me to use this from X. I can do fine from the shell, but I literally cannot
log in using my windowing system. There must be some kind of utility to
make the proper mount line. Please advise.
