That not only makes sense to me, but haplessly that is what I presently
have done to get by with. I got to that point with Kubuntu and Ubuntu
with i386 and amd64, and then I started asking questions. So then does
that mean the /boot/grub directories on all the other versions are never
looked at, but only the the one under the actual /boot partion I have
designated in the "first" installation? That all makes sense to me, but
it would be nice to have a sanity check from someone who knows how it
really works. Then there is also the question of what do I do with all
the unused grub directories in installations 2 through n? Can I just
delete the directories so they will never be referred to and create a
symbolic link to the real one, even though the symbolic link is only for
editing by my scripts? Oh, and then I need to mount he /boot partion
that isn't used in 2 through n on another node like /firstboot so that I
can go ln /firstboot/grub /boot/grub...?
Thanks for any further ideas.
Sincerely, Xeno
