[SLL] Suggestion that first boot only have native /boot partition...

That not only makes sense to me, but haplessly that is what I presently
have done to get by with.  I got to that point with Kubuntu and Ubuntu
with i386 and amd64, and then I started asking questions.  So then does
that mean the /boot/grub directories on all the other versions are never
looked at, but only the the one under the actual /boot partion I have
designated in the "first" installation?  That all makes sense to me, but
it would be nice to have a sanity check from someone who knows how it
really works.  Then there is also the question of what do I do with all
the unused grub directories in installations 2 through n?  Can I just
delete the directories so they will never be referred to and create a
symbolic link to the real one, even though the symbolic link is only for
editing by my scripts?  Oh, and then I need to mount he /boot partion
that isn't used in 2 through n on another node like /firstboot so that I
can go ln /firstboot/grub /boot/grub...?
