I found it pretty easy to ground the computer room in my old two-wire
house by just running a new ground wire out the window to a good
solid metal water pipe.
Before I did that, I fried a UPS, unless it was just a coincidence
that it was dead out of the box and its replacement, enjoying the
benefit of the new grounding system, has run flawlessly ever since...
