I use NewEgg almost exclusively these days.  If you're not picky
and want to walk into a store and buy, keep an eye on Fry's ads

motherboard/CPU combos and RAM.

Look at AMD's new 45-watt processors.  See
<http://www.silentpcreview.com/> for more on keeping things quiet.
You want large, slow fans -- power supply and case should be using
12cm ones.
