To what end? If it's something relatively simple (and you're up for it) you
could try flashing one of the little Linksys NAS boxes... it's not Ubuntu
but it is Linux and it ought to do most if not all of what you'd want.
The other thing to do would be to get something old enough to run without a
CPU fan... or, actually, come to think of it, one of the little Compaq
ultra-compact desktopper boxes (PIII-933-class) are pretty quiet, and can
probably be had at Re-PC or the like for cheap.
Other folks might come up with newer, more mundane options, but this is me,
and my tastes are eclectic... :)
