If you are using Sylpheed-claws you should look at J-pilot. It was
designed to sync with a palm-pilot, but it has a nice address book and
can export records to text, csv, vcard, and ldif. Sylpheed has an
option to use the J-pilot as its address book directly, so your e-mail
address book always matches your contact DB.

It does require gnome libraries which is why I did not mention it at
your first post.
