I've been looking into it a lot lately. I've been asked to check
into "hosted Exchange service" (meaning a hosted e-mail and group
calendaring server that will work with Outlook).
Zimbra, Scalix, and Citadel are all compelling, but Zimbra is the
only one that seems to be widely available as a hosted solution.
One hitch is that it seems that Zimbra's Outlook connector does
not play well with Outlook 2007, and probably will not until
Zimbra version 5.
Can anyone speak with experience about Zimbra ASPs? I spoke to
OnDeckTech yesterday, and they suggested waiting three weeks for
the demo I'd requested because they're in the process (or will
soon be) of upgrading their infrastructure.
Has anyone used Zimbra's calendaring with Evolution and Apple's
iCal?
Is Exchange the nightmare it would otherwise be if you have
someone competent administering it for you? (Setting aside the
fact that anyone on Linux, Mac OS, or anything else non-Windows
would have to stick with IMAP and the Web UI.)
