[SLL] How burn 2g+ file to DVD?

I've recently adopted tar-like DAR (dar.sourceforge.net) as my
OS-independent backup utility. (Do others think this is a wise
choice?) I've successfully burnt archive-files of up to
4,587,520KB in size to DVD using Nero on Windows. But when I
try to burn such big files using K3B (v0.12.3) on SuSe 10.0, it
says 2gig is the maximum file size. It doesn't help to enable
the UDF option.

I tried to upgrade to the latest K3B, and downloaded the (single)
specified dependency (a lib file), but gave up after finding
loads of other dependencies.

So, is Nero really more capable than K3B (and underlying
utilities), or is there a way to burn a file > 2g on Linux?
