[SLL] Vinyl to CD

The recent MP3 discussion encourages me to seek advice on transferring
music from vinyl 33s to CDs. 

Homework via Google has turned up the Ion USB & similar turntables.
Specs say 'PC & Mac compatible' though it's evident that most or all
could work via Linux with Audacity.  Reviews are mixed, so I've been
unable to narrow the field.

Does anyone care to comment?  First-hand experience with a specific
turntable would be especially useful.

(I have >200 33s, mostly classical & jazz; haven't played 'em in 20
years.  Repair of my B&O turntable seems not practicable. . . .  I'm
running Kubuntu 7.10 -- only: no WinDOSe at all.)
