I'm not sure a toolbar is really necessary for the style of browsing
that is expected. And I think bookmarks are handled in a different way.

That's the point, it shouldn't need configuring. Other than your wifi
connection (which is mostly automatic) and maybe your language (which
is installed when shipped to the country), everything is supposed to
Just Work. If something needs 'configuration' then it's a flaw and
needs to be fixed.

Oddly enough I think the OLPC folks are still trying to figure out an
update model. I was involved in discussions from the Red Hat side on
designing an update model, one that would work with some of Red Hat's
other image based products as well, but talks broke down with OLPC devs
that had other ideas, some involving vserver. However they've dropped
vserver now (after everybody told them it was a horrible idea) and I
don't know where that leaves their update plans. In the mean time,
there is yum on the system although it points directly at the Fedora
build system which is not really the best of things.
