XFCE is da bomb. Can't remember why I switched from KDE, but I haven't looked back.

*ahem*  I don't know about anyone else, but my KDE setup looks almost
nothing like Windoze.  It's fatter, more feature-rich, has multiple
cascading menus, and handles multiple desktop panes.... and I've been using
it since... oh, jeez, whenever Mandrake came out with it back in the
primordial darkness of the last century... 

It's piggy, yes.  But I can't remember the last time it actually crashed on
me.  *makes appropriate warding guestues*
