The 2wire is a very nice box.  I too don't know what it runs, but it  
does work.  (We run it in a bridged mode where the box has the static  
public address and provides a NATted LAN (although, like the  
Actiontec before it, it can also be configured as a pure bridge with  
the public IP on the WAN side of a router (or even a PC, if someone  
is that foolish)).  If my Actiontec dies, I'll spring for a 2wire  
replacement (unless Qwest has switched again by then).

If anyone is wondering after my comments about both DSL and cable, I  
have one of our DSL circuits; I added Cablespeed (slow speed) as a  
backup; then I sprang for high speed on that ($10 extra).  Company  
pays DSL and slow cable.  This will go over cable.
