[SLL] KUbuntu 6.1.0 and Konq Lockdown

Since I downloaded 6.1.0 from Ubuntu servers, I am really bummed out about not 
having a superuser file manager, and having all but /media and /home 
restricted from non root users when I try to browse and deal with issues I 
don't need to be root for, like adding a program to the Menu or Panel.

Does anyone know how to hack this one, or any other workaround? Ubuntu is 
beginning to look like Vista for Linux.
